Big Kids

From the youngest big kids to teens, we can help.

Your child may be having difficulties related to

speech, language, or literacy for the first time. Sometimes challenges don't appear until the school-age years and sometimes they aren't apparent until the later grades. Or, a difficulty was noticed in earlier years but it was thought they may outgrow the issue. Other children already have a known difficulty, difference, or diagnosis and are in need of support and service.

Location

We are located at 5730 Young Street, in the North End of Halifax. Find us at the blue door just past the entrance to Handala Dental. Free on-site parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the clinic (shared with Handala Dental). Click here for more information on our clinic. We offer mobile services as well.

Our mobile services are offered to residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality. Services take place in the child's home, daycare, or preschool setting.

Fees

Services are billed at $120 per hour.

The cost includes travel to/from the child's location (up to 20 minutes, after which a travel fee may be applied). It also includes preparation, documentation, and brief phone calls or email communication with the child's family, school, or other team members.

Depending on your child's and your family's needs a 30 minute ($80) or 45 minute ($100) appointment may be appropriate. Therapy schedules are also recommended based on a variety of factors and may be weekly, biweekly, or periodic.

We accept convenient payment options including credit card, direct billing to Blue Cross, email money transfer, cheque, or cash. We also offer billing to third party funding organizations.

Most insurance plans cover some or all speech-language pathology services up to a set amount. Please check with your provider about what your plan offers.
