Our Values

Our approach is child-centred and family-centred; we believe that building a trusting, collaborative relationship with your child and your family is crucial to obtaining an accurate, comprehensive assessment and to achieving therapy goals efficiently. Therapy should always be functional, meaningful, and fun.

We acknowledge that we are in Mi'kma'ki, the traditional territory of the Mi'kmaw people. At Bridges Speech and Language we embrace a culture of inclusion. We celebrate diversity in ourselves and our clients. We welcome everyone.

I am pleased to write this review and recommendation and can not underestimate the positive experience my twin daughters have here. My daughters attended speech therapy for over two years and both the progress and experience they have had has been phenomenal. An individualized plan was established for them and Megan has been nothing but accommodating for my girls and I. She is patient, friendly and has gotten the most out of my daughters. Even after a full day of school, Megan was able to keep their attention and give a productive lesson. I would recommend this establishment for anyone seeking to get their child speech services. My girls love Megan and look forward to each session. I could not be any happier.

Megan has been working with my 4-year-old son for over a year. During this time he has made consistent progress in the areas targeted so I know it’s effective. He also adores his time with Megan. She really has a way of keeping things fun and positive.

We have been with Megan MacLeod, using her services on a weekly basis, for over two years. My son was diagnosed with Dyslexia about 5 years ago and was a student of the Orton Gillingham program prior to having Megan join us. Each program worked individually on a weekly basis. My son will be 15 years old in May and is still participating in Speech Therapy with Megan. She has been a valuable asset to our son and he has responded favourably to her due to her ability to relate to him in a positive manner. It is wonderful to see them interact together while building a strong, robust relationship. He looks forward every week to Megan’s visits and has shown steady growth and improvement in his language development, vocabulary and his willingness to improve. He actually is studying words now, looking at spelling and meaning so he understands the words he reads. It's great to see him asking regularly 'what does that mean?' He is steadily improving but what means the most to me, is he now wants to know, whereas prior he just let it ride! Megan works well with children and has the ability to create a favourable environment for children to learn and be successful. My son looks forward to High School next year and above all, wants to succeed!
